Born and raised in Reims, France (North East of Paris), Ced's native town is the capital of the Champagne region. The Fine Art Museum of Reims, as well as the proximity to The City of Lights and its plethora of museums, exposed him early on to the master painters of the 19th century. Furthermore, Ced's family acquaintance, and local artist Jeanette Petit, was a major inspiration in his becoming an artist, as her paintings were hung throughout his childhood home. During Petit's visit, she would share incisive information with him about her work. Her valuable advice were put to good use and slowly but surely shaped Ced into the painter he has become. For the past twenty years, Ced has been living and painting in Madison Wisconsin.
